My name is Lefteris.
Music - especially metal - sparked my interest in guitars from an early age, although owning one was out of reach for me at the time. A few years later, while studying Aerospace Engineering, I was given my cousin’s old electric guitar. It had clearly seen years of use and neglect, and trying to learn on it quickly became frustrating: tuning instability, unreliable electronics, worn frets and poor playability constantly got in the way.
At the time, I did not realise the instrument itself needed significant work before it could properly play again. That experience became the starting point of my interest in guitar setup, maintenance and repair.
What began as a personal effort to restore that guitar gradually developed into a deeper interest in how guitars function mechanically and structurally. I started working on setups and maintenance in 2019, and in 2023 I joined the Guitar Making and Repair course at Merton College, where I trained for three years.
My engineering background strongly influences the way I approach guitar work. I value precision, careful diagnosis and understanding why problems occur rather than blindly following generic setup specifications or online advice. I see the guitar as a complete system: neck geometry, fret condition, hardware behaviour, materials and setup all interact to affect tuning stability, playability and reliability.
Having struggled early on because of the condition of the instrument itself, I understand how important a properly functioning guitar can be - especially for someone learning to play.
When you trust me with your instrument, you can expect careful work, attention to detail and respect for the guitar regardless of whether it is a high-end custom instrument or an affordable everyday player.
