My name is Lefteris.
As fan of metal, I was into guitars since my teens but couldn't afford one. Fast forward a few years as a first-year Aerospace Engineering student, I was given my cousin's old guitar. You could tell she was well played but as years went on, she was left in a room until she was passed on to me.
I was ecstatic! At long last, my first electric guitar!
As I was trying to learn I was facing one problem after another. Not just because my fingers were not obeying me (as is natural for a beginner) but also because of the guitar itself. She wouldn't stay in tune, the electrics would just black out and then maybe come back to life (or not...), the frets were dented...
Eventually, my first attempt to learn the guitar ended in failure a few months later.
Of course at that time, I had no idea that the guitar needed a fair bit of TLC before it could sing again. Back then, in the days of dial-up internet and no AI, I was on my own, learning from books and whatever advice I could find from friends.
That guitar became my mission though. I was determined to resurrect her and bring her back to her glory. This is how I took an interest in guitar setup, maintenance and repair (and building, but that's a story for a later time).
I started with setups and maintenance in 2019 and in 2023 I joined the Guitar Making and Repair course at Merton College and I trained for three years. This training has equipped me with the knowledge, skills and experience to work on guitars.
As a guitar player who failed due to the instrument, I understand the importance of having a playable guitar, I relate with it. If I can help someone have a smile on their face as they play (or learn how to) their guitar, I'm a happy person!
Being an engineer, I have a knack for precision and detail. I don't just blindly do whatever an internet search spits out. I've learned to question things that don't make sense and why things are done the way are. Sometimes there's a good reason for it, other times it's just because... well, that doesn't sit well with me.
I understand materials and mechanics, so you could say, I see the guitar as a system, not just as a slab of wood with strings and pickups.
As a small business, what you can expect from me when you trust me with your guitar is attention to detail, precision and love for your instrument, no matter how budget one might be.
